ABDOMINOPLASTY
Physical appearance is one measure of our health and vitality.
A flat stomach is one of the most desired attributes. Unfortunately for some, no diet or exercise can reduce sagging or excess skin and bulge of the abdomen.
Sometimes events such as pregnancy or weight gain combined with weight loss cause the skin and sometimes the underlying muscles to stretch to an extent to return their original shape.
Abdominoplasty is designed to firm and smooth the abdomen.
This cosmetic procedure removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and may also tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. Stretch marks can be improved and a new belly button is created.
The result is a flatter, tighter abdominal profile.
The incision from your abdominoplasty is placed just within or above the pubic area, the more loose skin needs to be removed. The longer the incision will be. For woman, plastic surgeons keep the incision within swimsuit lines. After a month your incision will begin to fade and you will see a truer picture of the final result of the surgery.
Abdominoplasty is performed under a general anaesthesia.
When surgery is completed you will be taken to a recovery area where you continue to be closely monitored.
A compressive dressing such as an elasticised bandage or specially designed garment may be have been placed to your abdomen.
You should wear the garment for 3-4 weeks. It minimizes the swelling and helps to give better cosmetic results.
Staff of the clinic will take care of you until the heeling process is complete.
