BREAST REDUCTION
If you are a woman with overly large breasts, breast reduction surgery can be a tremendously life-enhancing option. Heavy breasts can cause back, neck or shoulder pain, shoulder indentations due to tight bra straps, and extreme self- consciousness.
Having the procedure done will give you far more than just smaller, firmer breasts. You will also get significant relief from many physical and emotional discomforts, a new sense of freedom in your exercise and physical activity, and ability to wear a greater variety of clothing styles.
Breast reduction is a procedure that removes excess breast tissue and skin, making your breasts more proportional. The areola may be reduced and repositioned as well. Breast reduction can be performed at any age, but plastic surgeons usually recommend waiting until breast development has stopped.
The most common method for breast reduction uses a three-part incision: incisions are made around the areola, vertically to the crease underneath the breast, and horizontally beneath the breast following the natural crease. Excess tissue, fat and skin are removed; the nipple and areola are shifted to a higher position. The areola is also reduced in size. Sutures close the incisions, giving the breast its new contour. Scars will fade with time.
Breast reduction is performed under a general anesthesia.
When surgery is completed you will be taken to a recovery area.
Gauze dressings will be placed on your breasts and your breasts will be covered with an elastic bandage or surgical bra.
Staff of the clinic will take care of you until the healing process is complete.
